최근들어 과거 클립들 하나 둘 복원 해가면서 예전 세션들 정리 중입니다.
예전부터 생각해 왔던 클립으로서 성크의 전주천 뱅크 촬영세션 비디오 클립 1탄 입니다.
나레이션이 있으니 별 멘트는 필요가 없겠군요.
2006년 여름으로 되돌아가 봅시다!

2탄에서는 fisheye shot으로 만나 보죠.

근래에 있었던 개인적인 큰 충격을 이겨내기 위해 현업에 복귀하기 전에 같이 걱정해준 스케잇터 친구들을 직접 찾아가 보기로 하였습니다. 이날 많은 친구들을 보지는 못했으나 보근, 광훈, 승욱, 진배 및 건후 등 몇몇 친구들과 함께 간단한 스케잇도 하고 보근군의 촬영세션에 함께 참여하여 현장의 분위기를 담아 보았습니다. 발전기를 안가져 간 것이 좀 아쉬운 세션이었는데 이 날 루키들의 모습들이 눈에 띄었고 한두 번 촬영해본 적이 있는 건후군은 2단 킹크렛지에 5050을 간단하게 질러 주었는데 fisheye로 촬영한 보근이의 컷이 가장 제대로 나왔으니 나중에 어떤 식으로든 볼 수 있겠죠.

잠깐 개인적인 얘기를 해 보자면 돌아가신 아버지는 제가 하는 모든 일들을 지켜보시는 스타일이셨습니다. 대학교 학업은 뒷전이고 스케잇과 촬영 및 작품제작에만 몰두해 있는 저를 보시면서도 크게 잔소리 하신 적 없었던 그런 분이셨고 EYY시사회때에는 직접 찾아오셔서 메인이벤트도 감상하고 가시는 등 제가 하는 일들을 조용히 지켜보시며 보이지 않게 힘을 실어주셨던 분이셨습니다. 당시에는 부모님들의 그런 모습들이 큰 느낌이 없었는데 지금 생각해 보니까 제가 하는 것들을 할 수 있도록 지켜봐 주시는 것만으로도 큰 힘이 되었다고 생각합니다. 지금은 아버지께서 같은 세상에 계시지는 않지만 제 마음속에는 항상 최고로 존경하는고 사랑하는 인물로 남아있을 것입니다.

어쨌든 이 영상에서는 은근히 여러 가지 사건이 있었는데 그 중 하나는 예전 컬트에서 ‘빡빡이’라는 닉네임으로 유명했던, 이름을 전혀 모르니 별칭으로만 부를 수 없었던 그 양반도 잠깐 등장했고 공익요원으로 근무중인 진배와 잠시나마 사는 얘기도 할 수 있었습니다. 다들 나이가 먹어 가면서 인생에 대한 걱정도 하고 앞으로 무엇을 할 것인가에 대한 질문도 던져 보고 답도 찾아야 할 시기가 온 것 같습니다. 이 와중에도 건후는 5050을 몇 번의 시도만에 랜딩을 하더니 재촬영 요구에도 백투백으로 바로 랜딩해 버리는 저력을 과시 하였습니다.

비록 많은 친구들을 볼 수는 없었으나 역시 촬영을 할 때 저는 살아있음을 느낀 하루였습니다.

몇일 전에 트윗을 하다가 갑자기 생각이 나서 아래와 같이 간단한 설문조사를 실시하였습니다.

제대로 답변한 친구는 광훈이 하나밖에 없더군요-_-; 그래서 주말에 업로드 하기로 약속을 해 주었습니다!

정혁이 파트를 웹상에 공개 하면서 정혁이에 대해 간단히 몇 마디 하자면 정혁이는 뭐랄까…자신만의 스타일을 조용히 갈고닦는 스타일이라고나 할까요. 스트릿과 트랜지션 모두를 가볍게 소화할 수 있는 실력을 가진 국내에 몇 안되는 친구 중 한명 입니다.

예전 루키 시절 스트릿 클립을 보면 알리 자세 전에 나오는 특유의 엉거주춤 자세가 조금 이상해 보였는데 점점 진화를 거듭 하더니 어느 새 중견 스케이터 자세가 나오고 있는 것도 놀랍고요. 우선 서울지역의 필르머와의 인연은 역시 동근이를 들 수 있는데 ‘Chicken Run’에서의 미니파트를 들 수 있겠습니다. 남부 지방 필르머와의 인연은 예전에 글로브 팀원 당시 형주와의 촬영으로부터 시작되었습니다. 당시 형주가 추진하던 ‘Dreams Come True’ 프로젝트에서 부산의 전설들과 함께 스케잇을 하면서 메인 파트가 나올 정도의 실력과 클립들을 갖추게 되었고 결과물 제작이 계속 미루어 지는 불운한 과정도 있었지만 결국 ‘It’s Reality.’로 메인 파트를 선보이게 되었고 특유의 스케일과 스타일로다가 짧지만 굵은 파트를 마무리지을 수 있었습니다.

사실 아는 사람은 다 알다시피 형주의 작품은 결과물이 출판되지 않았을 뿐이지 이미 주요 인물들의 파트가 전부 편집이 되어 있었습니다. 형주 및 종민이와 처음에 공동 제작에 들어가기로 결정하고 나서 가장 힘들고 민감한 부분이 이것이었는데, 저는 모든 파트와 순서들을 전면 재수정하기를 바랬고, 형주와 종민이는 이미 제작해 놓은 파트들은 최소한의 수정만 실시하고 마무리짓기를 원하였습니다.

이 와중에도 정혁이의 파트는 형주의 편집본을 봤을 때 손댈 것이 전혀 없다는 생각이 들 정도로 짧고 강하게 제 스타일 대로 편집이 되어 있었습니다. 일반속도 클립과 느린재생 클립을 전부 써서 약간 지루한 맛도 있으나 지금 생각해도 형주와 서로 편집에 대한 이견이 별로 없었던 파트가 정혁이 파트였던 것 같습니다. 중간에 고속터미널 bsns 270shove-it out성공 후 정혁이가 엉덩이를 살랑살랑 흔드는 장면이 있는데 형주가 배경음악과 영상을 맞춰 놓았던 것을 제가 일부러 흔들었던 거 빼고는 말이죠.

만일 정혁이가 사직 높은 계단 렛지에 bsts를 탔다면 더욱 대단한 파트가 완성될 수 있었는데 좀 아쉽긴 합니다. 프랜즈 파트에서 임해일군이 동일 스팟에서 랜딩을 하긴 했지만 말이죠. 펩슨이 언젠가 커멘트 했던 게 생각이 나는데 ‘양재 허바에서의 kickflip bs5050은 정말 놀라운 장면이었다.’고 하더라고요. 제 개인적으로는 분당 더블셋 bs180도 대단하다고 생각 됩니다.

사실 제일 이견이 많았던 파트는 역시 신종민의 파트였는데 이 얘기는 다음에 하도록 하죠. 일단 즐겁게 감상들 하셔요!

역시 VHS오리지날 버전 파트(*)들을 보고 있으면 마음 한구석이 따뜻해져 오는 것을 느낄 수 있습니다. 해외에 있어서 적극적으로 도움을 주지 못하여 아쉽지만 아직 street skate정신을 잊지 않고 언제든 복귀하여 친구들과 함께하고 싶은 마음만은 그 누구보다 더하다는 것을 말해주고 싶습니다. 지금 봐도 대단한 파트로 평생 잊지 못할 추억으로 자리잡고 있고 후배들도 더욱 힘내고 결과물을 만들어 내려는 의지와 열정이 화려한 장비보다 중요함을 잊지 말라고 얘기해 주고 싶습니다.

(*)주: 이 파트는 VHS버전과 DVD버전 두 종류가 있는데 DVD용 파트는 Editor’s Cut으로 재편집하였습니다. 전체적으로 재편집 버전의 파트가 길이가 짧고 몇 개 footage를 빼고 편집하여 느낌이 틀린데 역시 오리지날 VHS파트의 충격에는 못미치는 것 같습니다. 전체적으로 4명 모두의 파트가 재편집 되었는데 VHS버전의 클립들을 디지털화 하여 고화질 영상으로 조만간 웹상에 공개토록 하겠습니다.
