Bob Seger_Night Moves (From ‘Night Moves’, 1976)

I was a little too tall
Could’ve used a few pounds
Tight pants points hardly reknown
She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes
And points all her own sitting way up high
Way up firm and high

Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy
Out in the back seat of my ’60 Chevy
Workin’ on mysteries without any clues
Workin’ on our night moves
Trying’ to make some front page drive-in news
Workin’ on our night moves in the summertime
In the sweet summertime

We weren’t in love oh no far from it
We weren’t searching for some pie in the sky summit
We were just young and restless and bored
Living by the sword
And we’d steal away every chance we could
To the backroom, the alley, the trusty woods
I used her she used me
But neither one cared
We were getting our share

Workin’ on our night moves
Trying to lose the awkward teenage blues
Workin’ on out night moves
In the summertime
And oh the wonder
Felt the lightning
And we waited on the thunder
Waited on the thunder

I woke last night to the sound of thunder
How far off I sat and wondered
Started humming a song from 1962
Ain’t it funny how the night moves
When you just don’t seem to have as much to lose
Strange how the night moves
With autumn closing in

Beastie Boys_Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun (from ‘Paul’s Boutique’)

[Mike D yells]
AAAAAH!

[Mike D, MCA, Ad Rock]
Rolling down the hill, snowballing getting bigger
Explosion in the chamber, the hammer from the trigger
I seen him get stabbed, I watched the blood spill out
He had more cuts than my man Chuck Chillout
24 is my age and 22 is my gauge
I’m writing rhymes on a page, and going up in a rage
‘Cause I’m out on a mission, a stolen car mission
Had a small problem with the transmission
3 on the tree in the middle of the night
I have this steak on my head ’cause I got into a fist fight
Life comes in phases take the good with the bad
You bought the coins on the street and you know you got had
Because it’s all high spirit, you know you got to hear it
Don’t touch the mic baby don’t come near it
It’s gonna getcha, it’s gonna getcha
It’s gonna getcha girl, it’s gonna getcha

Looking down the barrel of a gun, son of gun
Son of a bitch getting paid getting rich
Ultra violence be running through my head
Cold medina y’all, making me see red
Rapid fire Louie like Rambo got bullets
I’m a die harder like my kid Bruce Willis
I love girlies, waxing and milking
Coordinating shit is my man Dave Scilken
Predetermined destiny is who I am
You got your finger on the trigger like the Son of Sam
I am like Clockwork Orange, going off on the town
I’ve got homeboys bonanza to beat your ass down
Well I’m mad at my desk and I’ll be writing all curse words
Expressing my aggressions through my schizophrenic verse words
You’re a headless chicken chasin, a sucker free basin
Looking for a fist to put your face in
Well get hip get hip, don’t slip ya knuckle heads
Racism is schism on the serious tip

Love is a Song (Dumbfoundead Remix) from Lovers:_Dj Soulscape

Love is a Song Remix Rap이 Dumbfoundead에 의해 재해석되었습니다.

Directed by: Andrew Kurchinski http://twitter.com/AKurchinski

Special thanks to Jimmy at Beer Belly, Umi Oh and Jennifer Field!

Lyrics:

I guess im trippin for me to ask you to take me back,
I’m just bitter cause I wont ever get a taste of that, again,
3am can’t delete your number out my phone,
sendin you messages hopin that you are down to bone,

I bet you find it pathetic that i be still at it,
had me some one hit wonders babygirl you’re illmatic,
a real classic, im such a bastard, chasin after a bunch of plastics,
over passion, now you mad,

but no hard feelins, im not your arch villain,
you got me writin more love songs than john lennon,
theres nothing wrong with it, you love every minute of it,
I’m pennin every sentence hopin you feel pity from it,

You say I’m so sweet but only on beats,
Cause in person I always seem say the wrong things,
He’s such an asshole, look at him rap though,
a sweet apology with a Jason mraz flow,

im just playin’ you used to find me funny though,
before you saw me use same jokes on other hoes,
girl you were so pissed you tried to let my mother know,
I fucked it up with my credibility runnin low,

And I aint sayin im a changed man,
But I’m switchin from fake bitches to namebrands,
You got this player forgettin about his gameplan,
I got your name stuck in my head like rainman,

you never know what you have till you lose it,
And all the other girls that I smash are illusions,
Late night ass, theres really nothing to it,
You got them killer moves, and they don’t know the way you do it, was a student,

To your body and behaviours,
Studied it like my major,
That pussy is cocaine, cuttin it like a razor,
Say the word, and Im back in,
gave me more shots then a mac 10, so lets shoot again,
not you again, is the look you give me now,
im writin this like I aint got a chick with me now,
I’ll probably write her one too when I let her down,
And best believe the next song will have a better sound,

How many tracks till I settle down,
Put it on wax, let it spin around,

Whats wrong with writing another love song,
Cause all you got is love songs when the loves gone.

Nothin’ Like Home_Mobb Deep (From ‘Infamy’)

(Prodigy talkin’)

Yeah man..you know…2002 man…approachin’ 2003 man…where we takin’
this man?…where we headed for the future man…whats the resolution?

Verse 1: (Prodigy)

Wealth, health, and happiness nigga
keep me from runnin’ ’round clappin’ these niggas
sometimes you gotta just handle your business
fuck it, it’s on me, rounds of shots for niggas
punk, I wake up everyday to cathedral cielings
jumpin’ out my bed, wall to wall marble and pillars
livin’ like the pharoah Tut, I’m blessed with life
so I breathe deep and give praise to the most high
then I, get fresh for a new day
I eat broccoli for breakfast and smoke my trees
turn on the flat screen to C-Span
see the elite strength, attorney general slowly gettin’ bills passed
prophecies comin’ to pass
we gotta survive this shit dun, it’s nothin’ to laugh at
I hops in the V, grabs the heat and I stash that
I’m in tune with Doc, Pac, and Huey, it’s a rap.

Chorus (both)

I traveled the World, and been alot of places
believe me dog, ain’t nothin’ like home
and if you want somethin’ done, you gotta do it yourself, you got drama?
who’s gonna clap that chrome?
nobody like you, somebody like me
when death I’m ready for it in Threes
and me off point? c’mon now nigga please
I’m paranoid, you know I’m burnin’ those trees

Verse 2: (Havoc)

Saw alot of niggas die, some niggas survived
and those that did did it by the skin of their hide
dodgin’ that long ride, the four-fifth aimed at ‘em
and knew to fall back when them slugs came at ‘em
on the real, for me to be here tellin’ ya’ll this
is like dice, then I rolled that Four-Five-Six
and never lost ever since, though I took that big pinch
my Brother passed away, 24/7 I was bent
drunk in my pain, alot of friends went and then came
and those that stayed understood a nigga pain
and for a niggas problems had noone to point the blame
I was my own worst enemy goin’ against the grain
somewhere along the line them pieces had to get grabbed
all this money plus family, shit wasn’t that bad
all you little shorties runnin’ ’round like shits sweet
just remember these words from the M-O-double-B.

Chorus -

Verse 3: (Littles)

I kiss my finger, cross my heart, I’ma make it out these dark days
whether together or we part ways
I got a promise to that boy tatted on my arm
three strong, man, the heat’s still lukewarm
who can you trust when your friends wanna pop your safe?
you let him stash in your place, now you watch his waist
vision the days, hear the ghost whisper
dogs we left in the past, brought back now here with us
cross my heart, let the haze linger
pour out a little liquor, knowin’ God took a good nigga
Thousand dollar slippers skirt from the scene he was just a worker, dog,
you were his every dream
I kissed his face like I never knew ‘em
it was me, once upon a time when life was ruined
now the mink rope chain sparklin’
jumpin’ out of bed, Thousand dollar slippers slidin’ huggin’ the
carpets.

Chorus

He Comes_De La Soul f/ Ghostface (From ‘The Grind Date’)

“Oh, whaddya know? He comes”

[Posdonus]
Down, like water, fresh out the clouds clown
Drown you like terrible weather
Nobody does it better than I, so approved by Carly Simon
Most rappers is real hard, but still hardly rhymin
To all – rise and shine – give God the glory
I already give a percent of mine to Bert & Cory
And still got bills and employees to pay
So excuse me Lord, we’ll settle up towards the end of my days
My ways of control is hard to swallow
Known to lead, but some would rather see me follow behind
Sorry to dis-appoint, but dis joint’s mine
Dis-play your indie but say no –
- more or I’ll blind you like spit did to Remo
- to the dirt – and edit the clip and lost Kano
My mens wear problems like Timbs
See it all in they face, ask Mase, he got wars to win
Scores to settle, crews to crush
You rush right in to see him do it with a smile
It’s Long Isle y’all, longevity sustainin my celebrity status
From AM to PM, you see him on file y’all
I was told to step righteous, so when it’s done
everyone will say I stepped right
And whether through religion, or stopped by the cop
shinin his flash in my face, I’m bound to see the light

“A few short words, and whaddya know?”
“Oh, whaddya know? He comes”

[Dave]
Aiyyo I’m up against these walls, here’s my back stiff straight up
Dazzle and razzlin broads like I’m little Juan Magic
Magnetically handle mics, they don’t drop
Top drama every time these commas don’t drop
Pop spots like lint on your shirt, the net worth
to shoot the rock homey in many courts of ball
Four couldn’t do it, so we bring all six
I circumcise the track, you just a dick – overlapped and hooded
Skin repeated like Stutterin John
I repeat like yesterday, it don’t stop
George of this poor life pop, put to Scarlet
in a place she believes, much better than your lies
She say she lookin better in my eyes, bullshit!
Same crock she done ran to duck, crammin to fuck
I put the pudding on her like Bill Cosby
I tried to speak my piece in court but Judge Mills paused me
Bifocusedly die hopeless sometimes
Yo cry your poker face, you oughta try it one time
When God is an non pos’, you stand to download
Demanded like slaves on trial – we want free
Man cock aim ready, it’s time you MC
So you rappers bust bee-bee guns, graffiti runs
through my veins since cable with the wired remote
Woodgrainin like you wired his float

[Interlude: Ghostface]
C’mon, Pretty Toney and De La Soul
We was rhymin through the frozen street since 8 years old
Take us back to eighty-eight, you couldn’t catch our flow
A group of kids so original

[Ghost] You heard?

[Interlude]

[Ghostface Killah]
Tony ‘Tana with big hammers for bad manners who got ‘em
We kiss cannons for Scrangelous crew, and his whack dancers
Bitin is forbidden pah, pay that tax
And don’t you ever look at us funny – boy, we’ll bring rap back
And that’ll hurt you like Superman, chased by a group of men
with dyna-mics, real hip-hop’ll do you in
For you like Loo Goo Kim, or Moo Loo Inn
Hula hoop all bitches crew full with brand new Keds
Cutmaster kill ‘em, make sure we cut classics
Buck bastards in broad day and tuck caskets
Next to Uday and Qusay, how can the group shoot the PA
and just lay whooptay whooptay?
Use the ruse, sport beads and snatch a dude’s toupee
Since tunin into T-La Rock’n AJ
Ghostface gats is freshed squeezed like a glass of OJ
Girls you can go cruisin in my OJ

“A few short words, and whaddya know?”
“Oh, whaddya know? He comes”

(From Psychedelos)

Built to Spill_The Plan (from ‘Keep It Like a Secret’)

The plan keeps coming up again
And the plan means nothing stays the same
But the plan won’t accomplish anything
If it’s not implemented
Like it’s always been
And it makes me think of everyone
And the cause of this is evident
But the remedy cannot be found
Cause it’s so well hidden

This history lesson doesn’t make any sense
In any less than ten thousand year increments
Of common sense
